Qantas to boost domestic services

Qantas has unveiled plans to increase its domestic services in the New Year.
The Australian carrier said that it is responding to customer demand and will boost flights on key routes within the country.
Additional services that will begin in March 2010 include flights between Adelaide and Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, and Brisbane and Cairns.
Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said: 'We are seeing some improvements in domestic demand and so the time is right to begin restoring capacity to ensure we are well place to meet that demand.'
He added: 'The changes will see the addition of a total 19 return services across selected routes, while capacity will be restored on others by upgrading from Boeing 737 to larger Boeing 767 aircraft.'
The airline is also planning to boost its Cityflyer services between Adelaide and Brisbane.
As of next week, Qantas will operate four new flights on the route, which will bring the total to 24.
