The Catalan National Art Museum in Barcelona is currently celebrating its 75th anniversary with the exhibition Guests of Honour.
About 70 items representing the history of Catalan art feature in the exhibition, from the Middle Ages up to the turn of the 20th century.
The pieces have been borrowed from private archives, ecclesiastical collections and other museums.
Visitors will be able to see work by a number of influential and acclaimed artists, including Pablo Picasso, Antoni Gaudi, Salvador Dali, Bernat Martorell and Santiago Rusinol.
The exhibition also provides a representation of various creative techniques, from watercolour painting and sculpture to silverwork and photography.
Holidaymakers visiting Barcelona will be able to see Guests of Honour at the Catalan National Art Museum until 11 April.
The Spanish city is home to many other galleries and institutes that offer a fascinating insight into its culture, such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Joan Miro Foundation and the Picasso Museum.
