Chicago boasts new visitor centre
6 Jan 2010

Travellers heading to Chicago this year will be able to enhance their trip by making use of an improved visitor centre in the city.

The Water Works centre is located opposite the famous Water Tower along Chicago's Magnificent Mile.

It has been remodelled to make it easier for tourists to find information about local events, attractions and tours.

Visitors who fancy a trip to the theatre can head to the Hot Tix outlet, which offers half-price tickets for more than 200 entertainment venues in the area.

The centre is also home to the Chicago Public Library, where members of the public can find out more about the city, and the First Slice Pie Cafe.

Dorothy Coyle, director of the Chicago Office of Tourism, said: 'As Chicago grows in popularity as a major destination, this enhanced visitor centre allows us to continue to provide excellent service to our many visitors from around the world.

'The new tenants - First Slice Cafe and the Chicago Public Library - offer new opportunities for visitors and locals alike to experience the very best of our city.'

Delta Airlines, KLM and Virgin Atlantic are among the carriers that offer direct flights to Chicago from the UK and Europe.
