The event will celebrate the music of the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque eras with performances and lectures at venues around the city including Millennium Park.

Chicago will also play host to the 14th annual Celtic Fest this year, which will bring traditional music and dance performances, a bagpipe parade and more to Millennium Park on 8 and 9 May.

People who enjoy visiting museums will be able to see some new exhibitions in the city this year, including a showcase of work by Henri Matisse at the Art Institute of Chicago, which will run from 20 March to 6 June.

The Museum of Science and Industry will open a new exhibition on 18 March exploring extreme natural events such as tornadoes, avalanches and tsunamis.
