Travellers planning to visit Vancouver over the coming months will be able to attend a number of events and enjoy some entertainment at the Cultural Olympiad.
The event is being held in conjunction with the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Hundreds of performance groups and individuals representing various art forms will take part in the programme, according to Tourism British Columbia.
Spokeswoman Eileen Clarke said: 'The international showcase, held [from] 22 January to 21 March, is hosting nearly 200 artistic events throughout the city, featuring visual art, music, dance, theatre, performance art and more.
'Some of the events are ticketed performances, while others invite the public to simply stop by.'
Ms Clarke also encouraged Vancouver visitors to take advantage of the city's permanent attractions, such as Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge.
The 2010 Olympic Winter Games will run from 12 to 28 February, followed by the Paralympics between 12 and 21 March.
