IHG prepares to open Manhattan's biggest new hotel

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has started the countdown to the summer opening of the biggest new hotel in Manhattan.
Set to open in July, the InterContinental New York Times Square will join the InterContinental New York Barclay as one of the group's latest properties in the city.
The new-build hotel is located on 44th Street, within easy reach of Times Square and other popular tourist areas including Broadway and Fifth Avenue.
Guests will be accommodated in 607 rooms, including 29 corner suites that offer panoramic views of the iconic Manhattan skyline.
Jim Abrahamson, IHG's president for the Americas, said: 'Opening the largest new-build hotel in the New York City market since 2002 - especially in this economy - is a tremendous milestone and the result of working with the right owner to put the right hotel brand in the right location.
'By leveraging the global strength of the InterContinental Hotels and Resorts brand and the scale of IHG, the InterContinental New York Times Square will be in a prime position this summer to attract both international and domestic business and leisure travellers.'
