There will be an exciting experience on offer to travellers in Vienna this year when a new boat terminal opens in the centre of the city.
Located on a canal linked to the Danube, the three-storey construction will provide a base for the Twin City Liner catamarans that sail between Vienna and Bratislava, the capital of neighbouring Slovakia.
It has been designed to provide access for wheelchair users and is expected to handle around 200,000 passengers every year.
The terminal will also house a desk operated by tourism representatives from Bratislava, who will provide information for people planning to make the 75-minute trip to the city from Vienna.
According to the Austrian capital's tourist board, the new hub will be 'more than just a place for passengers to set sail'.
It will feature catering facilities on all three floors, shops and spaces to host events and exhibitions.
Visitors will find the new complex between Schwedenbrucke and Marienbrucke on the bank of the Danube canal.
