British skiers urged to consider Slovakia
8 Feb 2010
British winter sports enthusiasts have been encouraged to visit Slovakia if they are hoping to take a holiday without breaking the bank this year.
The Slovak Tourist Board said the Tatry mountains are 'among the cheapest places for British skiers to ski'.
Prices for a three-night, four-day ski trip reportedly come in at under 370 (£325) including flights to Poprad from London Luton, lift passes, equipment hire and four-star accommodation.
Travellers also benefit from good infrastructure and services, according to the tourist board, with transfers of 15 minutes from the airport to the slopes and a variety of accommodation options to choose from.
The Ski Club of Great Britain recently announced that it had developed a new application for the iPhone that is available for free download.
Winter sports travellers can use the app to find out about snow depths and conditions in hundreds of skiing and snowboarding resorts around the world.
