Travellers visiting New York City in May will have the opportunity to take part in the Great Saunter, a 32-mile walk around the edge of Manhattan Island.
The event is organised by the Shorewalkers group, which describes the occasion as 'the premier NYC walking event of the year'.
It gets underway at 07:30 local time in front of the Heartland Brewery near the South Street Seaport.
Dozens of parks, landmarks and other impressive sights are passed during the walk, which comes to an end at 19:30 at the starting point.
Those who don't feel up to walking the entire 32-mile route can join in or drop off at several points along the course using public transportation.
The majority of the walk is fairly flat and is carried out at a pace that is described as 'steady, but not fast'.
New York visitors will be required to make a donation of $15 (£9.60) to participate in the Great Saunter, while members of the Shorewalkers organisation can take part for free.
Opodo cheap flights, hotels and car hire - let the journey begin!
