Trips to Barcelona will feature an extra attraction for film fans this year, with an exhibition celebrating a great Italian director currently on display in the city.

A display paying tribute to Federico Fellini is currently open at the CaixaForum and will run until 13 June.

Fellini was one of European cinema's most influential figures, creating critically acclaimed films such as 8 1/2, La Dolce Vita and La Strada.

The exhibition features over 400 items that offer a comprehensive insight into his life and work, including photographs, film extracts and drawings, as well as some of the first colour stills from the shooting of 8 1/2.

Visitors will also be able to learn about the director's obsession with women and his interest in other topics that manifested themselves in his movies, such as dreams, popular culture and religious symbolism.

The CaixaForum is one of Barcelona's leading cultural centres and hosts displays on various subjects throughout the year.

Flights to Barcelona are provided by a range of carriers, including easyJet, British Airways and Iberia.
