Tourism Western Australia has announced that it is organising an 'extraordinary taxi ride' to showcase the state's unique features and experiences.
An online competition will decide the 22 people who will take part in the nine-week journey.
The trip will be separated into 11 legs that cover the entirety of Western Australia.
It is part of a campaign being run by the regional tourist board to showcase the diverse travel experiences and destinations on offer in the state, such as the Bungle Bungle Range in Purnululu National Park and Ningaloo Reef.
Stephanie Buckland, Tourism Western Australia's chief executive officer, said: 'We wanted to showcase our amazing natural wonders, fantastic people and extraordinary offerings to Australians, and to the world, in a truly unique fashion.'
She added: 'We want people to know that for an extraordinary holiday, you need to come to an extraordinary place - in short, this is what led us to the creation of Experience Extraordinary as our new brand, and in turn, the Extraordinary Taxi Ride.'
The easiest way for travellers to reach Western Australia is to take flights to Perth, the state capital, which are available with carriers such as
Qantas and
Emirates.
