Orlando, Las Vegas stay top of US summer holiday league

Orlando and Las Vegas are still the leading destinations for summer holidays in the US, according to research by the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA).
The company asked travel consultants to name the destinations that had received the most interest from customers, with Orlando coming top with 17.7% of responses, followed by Las Vegas with 16.2%.
San Francisco, Miami and Los Angeles completed the top five, while New York City, San Diego and Honolulu also featured in the top ten.
ASTA also surveyed consultants on the international destinations that have been the most popular among customers, with London topping the list, followed by Rome, Paris, Cancun and Punta Cana.
The list of global travel hotspots featured two new locations in this year's poll - Hong Kong in China and Riviera Maya in Mexico.
Chris Russo, president and chair of the organisation, said: 'Although the top destinations have remained relatively unchanged for many years, it's interesting to see some fresh destinations, both domestic and international, appear on the scene.'
