UK cruise market 'to continue expanding'

The UK cruise market, which doubled in size over the past decade, is set to show the same level of expansion again over the next ten years, according to Carnival UK.
An annual report released by the company forecast that 3m passengers will take cruises from the UK by 2020.
Micky Arison, chairman and chief executive of Carnival, said that the rising demand will be supported by a wider range of services coming onto the market, including more short cruises from British ports.
The report also included the results of a survey of frequent cruisers, which found that more than a quarter would cut back in other areas of spending to ensure they could take their main holiday at sea.
Further research identified the entertainers that people would most like to see during a cruise holiday, with Peter Kay, Michael McIntyre, Michael Buble and Susan Boyle topping the list.
Carnival UK's brands include P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises and Cunard Line.
