Travellers planning to visit Asia in the future have been encouraged to see the city of Kuala Lumpur for a unique experience.
Abdul Rauf Abu Hassan, UK and Ireland director of Tourism Malaysia, described the city as 'the cultural heartland of peninsular Malaysia'.
'No other Asian destination can offer such a diverse heritage and unique culture as Kuala Lumpur,' he commented.
'The city is Asia in a nutshell, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences. The result is an exciting melting pot of numerous religions and varied cuisines, with a flourishing arts scene.'
Mr Hassan encouraged visitors to see some of the city's architecture, which he described as 'second to none, with 19th century museums rubbing shoulders with space-age skyscrapers'.
The Tourism Malaysia spokesman also highlighted the affordability of travelling to the destination, describing
Malaysia Airlines' flights to Kuala Lumpur as 'excellent value for money'.
