Two major awards secured by Aeroflot

Aeroflot has scooped the best international passenger carrier and passengers' choice prizes at the Wings of Russia awards.
The country's largest carrier beat off competition from 47 other airlines in the Air Carrier of the Year 2009 title, with the award's panel of 100 members deciding on the winner.
Wings of Russia was established 13 years ago and is the country's main industry award in terms of noting domestic companies' achievements and their influence in the Russian civil aviation field.
Judges assessed criteria such as passenger traffic, load factors, revenues, profitability and flight safety before deciding on a winner.
The passengers' choice award was decided after the results of an online poll involving 5,000 people, with customers asked their opinions on in-flight service quality, levels of customer care and their confidence in the company.
Last month, Aeroflot introduced a new in-flight menu ahead of the launch of its summer schedule, with some of the main courses featuring swordfish, smoke-dried tuna fish and raw-smoked turkey.
