Pink Floyd fans will have a unique opportunity to see a live performance of one of the band's greatest albums during a trip to the US or Canada this year.
Roger Waters, the group's former bassist, lyricist and co-lead singer, has announced that he will present The Wall Live at a number of destinations across North America towards the end of the year before heading to Europe in 2011.
The tour will start with two shows at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on 15 and 16 September, after which Waters and his band will head to Chicago on 20 and 21 September.
Fans will be able to see the show in other cities including Boston (30 September), New York (5 October), Washington DC (10 October), Los Angeles (29 November) and Vancouver (10 December).
The Wall was originally conceived as a double-album and rock opera in 1979 and subsequently adapted into a film starring Bob Geldof.
Commenting on the thinking behind the live show, Waters said: 'I want to try to make a new performance of this piece.'
