Krakow Film Festival to return for 50th edition

Travellers visiting the popular city of Krakow in Poland this year will have the chance to attend a special event.
The Krakow Film Festival will celebrate its 50th outing when it returns from 31 May to 6 June.
Officially the oldest event of its kind in Poland, the festival will be divided into three sections, one of which will showcase international documentaries that will compete for the Golden Horn award.
Another part of the 2010 programme will be dedicated to cinema from Israel.
Bogdan Becla, acting director of the Polish National Tourist Office, said: 'We have a great tradition in film and cinema in Poland and … some great directors have started their careers in Krakow, like Krzysztof Kieslowski and Wojciech Wiszniewski.
'The Krakow Film Festival is an established, world-famous event that attracts some top short films and documentaries from around the world. And of course it'll be extra special for its jubilee edition.'
Several venues in the city will host screenings, including the Kijow Centrum and the Mikro.
