New York visitors urged to explore whole state

People who will be catching flights to New York for a break this summer have been encouraged to extend their trip beyond the borders of the famous city and explore the whole state.
New York State Tourism pointed out that the region is home to a diverse range of destinations and attractions that can be 'surprising and delightful' additions to a city break.
One location worth visiting is Buffalo, the second largest city in the state of New York.
It is situated a 20-minute drive away from Niagara Falls and also boasts plenty of attractions of its own, including several buildings that were designed by celebrated architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
Adventure seekers can head to the Erie Canalway, which is described by New York State Tourism as 'a new kind of national park'.
The area encompasses an 805km waterway for canal cruising and 587km of bicycle trails, as well as numerous cultural and heritage sites.
