Travellers interested in seeing a lesser-known side of Canada can book flights to Vancouver to visit some of the beaches located in the province of British Columbia.

This region boasts some of the country's top coastal hotspots, according to the Canadian Tourism Commission.

Vancouver is home to Wreck Beach, which is one of Canada's most popular seafront destinations for nudists.

Those looking for a more conventional beach can pay a visit to Tofino in British Columbia to explore Cox Bay, which offers ideal surfing conditions in winter and is highly popular among people looking for rest and relaxation in the summer.

Other coastal locations worth visiting include Big Tribune on Hornby Island and Rose Spit in Haida Gwaii, which offers views that stretch as far as Alaska on a clear day.

The Canadian Tourism Commission recommended several destinations in other parts of the country, such as Sauble Beach in Ontario and Grand Beach on the shores of Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba.
