Travellers planning a trip to Dublin in July will have the opportunity to experience a brand new event in the city.

The Summer Sensational will be held at various venues in the Temple Bar cultural quarter from 8 to 11 July.

Described by its organisers as 'an age-friendly festival bursting with exciting events', the Summer Sensational will feature live music, art exhibitions, outdoor film screenings, dance shows and more.

One of the highlights of the programme is Summer Sunday on the Square, which will feature performances by the Dublin Gospel Choir and Ottoni Brass Ensemble on Meeting House Square on 11 July.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy storytelling sessions with staff from the National Leprechaun Museum, yodelling, balloon sculpting and more.

Meeting House Square will also play host to the action-packed street theatre performance Cliffhanger! and comedy show Cirque de Legume on 8 July.

Film fans will be able to see screenings of the classic movies Jaws, Dirty Dancing and Stand by Me on 8, 9 and 11 July respectively.
