Travellers hoping to learn more about art and history during a trip to Rome this year will be interested in a new exhibition at the Musei Capitolini.

A display focusing on Rome's conquest of Greece in 146 BC and its influence on Roman art will be on view at the Palazzo Caffarelli at the museum until 5 September.

Entitled The Age of Conquest, the exhibition highlights the aesthetic changes that occurred in Roman art, culture and life as a result of the Greek influence.

Visitors can see a wide range of items in the show, including home decorations made of bronze and silver, terracotta sculptures, marble statues and ornaments.

Holidaymakers planning a trip to Italy this year might also have the opportunity to visit an exhibition in Florence that celebrates the work of Bronzino, one of the most celebrated artists of the 16th century.

The display will be based at Palazzo Strozzi until 23 January 2011.
