Los Angeles to 'roll out red carpet' for visitors this summer

The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced that the city, which is famous for its celebrity culture, will 'roll out a red carpet of special offers, discounts and deals' for visitors this summer.
A number of hotels will be offering promotions over the coming months, including a deal to pay for one day and get another free at the King Kong 3D attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood.
There will also be discounts available for the Mummies of the World exhibition at the California Science Center.
Due to make its debut on 1 July, the show will reportedly feature the largest collection of mummies ever assembled.
Los Angeles also offers a range of free experiences at famous sites, such as walking along Venice Beach, exploring Sunset Boulevard and enjoying summer concerts at Pershing Square and the Getty Center Museum.
Special events due to take place in the city this year include the golden anniversary of the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 25 July and the X Games at the Staples Center from 29 July to 10 August.
Continental Airlines, US Airways, Air Canada and other carriers operate flights to Los Angeles from the UK.
