Travellers urged to experience Madrid's nightlife

One of the highlights of a trip to Madrid is the city's nightlife, a travel expert has claimed.
Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, said that nightlife is one area where Madrid 'really excels', despite being better known for art and culture.
Mr Hall encouraged holidaymakers to visit some of the Spanish capital's bars and nightclubs and also find out about live events that are taking place during their stay.
He said: 'It doesn't have the reputation of Barcelona but actually there are some fantastic districts in Madrid that keep going long into the night.'
'It has an excellent live music scene and it's worth seeking out recommendations and listings of what's on while you're there,' he added.
Sports fans were encouraged to take the Real Madrid museum and stadium tour, which offers an insight into the history and status of the football club and showcases an impressive collection of trophies.
