Michael Burke, the airline's country manager for India, said: 'We are delighted to be celebrating Virgin Atlantic's tenth anniversary of flying between London and Delhi.

'India has long had well-established business links with Britain and has proved to be an increasingly popular destination for British tourists as well as those with family ties in either country.'

The airline operates an extensive international network that includes flights to Shanghai, Tokyo and Hong Kong in Asia, as well as other popular long-haul destinations such as Sydney, Cape Town and San Francisco.
