Travel and Leisure magazine has announced the results of its World's Best Awards 2010, with Bangkok emerging as the most popular city.
The destination received an overall score of 90.3 out of 100 and was followed by Chiang Mai, also in Thailand, on 89.35 points.
Florence and Rome emerged as the third and fifth most popular cities respectively, while San Miguel de Allende in Mexico took fourth place.
Travel and Leisure also asked for its readers' views on islands, with the Galapagos taking the top spot ahead of Kauai in Hawaii and the Cyclades in Greece.
Singapore Airlines was voted the leading international carrier in the publication's latest World's Best Awards survey with a score of 91.49.
Emirates, Qatar Airways,
Virgin Atlantic and
Cathay Pacific completed the top five.
The magazine releases a list of up-and-coming hotels as part of its awards programme every year, with the Aria resort in Las Vegas and the Mandarin Oriental in Barcelona among the properties expected to do well in the near future.
