The Museum of the City of New York will be hosting a number of special shows and events to interest people of all ages and tastes this summer.

On Wednesday nights until 18 August, the attraction will invite visitors to enjoy cocktails on the terrace and see a special installation on Flapper Jane, a fictional 1920s character.

The retro events will also include tours of current exhibitions, live music and an antique car show.

People looking forward to a trip to New York this month can visit the museum on 25 July for a guided tour through the Samurai in New York display, which will focus on a collection of late 19th century Japanese woodblock prints.

A series of talks will be taking place at the attraction over the coming months, exploring topics ranging from gay rights (3 August) to the future of the car in New York City (5 August).

Families will be able to attend events including a workshop on creating Japanese folding fans on 21 August and a taiko drumming performance the following weekend.
