US Airways tops latest punctuality and satisfaction rankings

US Airways was ranked first for on-time reliability and customer satisfaction in the second quarter of 2010 in a recent report by the American department of transportation.

The airline revealed that the positive results were based on three consecutive first-place rankings for punctuality in April, May and June and two months as the leading carrier for customer service in May and June.

Just over 83% of US Airways' flights arrived within 14 minutes of their scheduled time in the final month of the second quarter, while only 1.87 complaints were recorded for every 100,000 passengers.

Airline president Scott Kirby said: 'Once again, our employees stepped up to the plate and, despite summer thunderstorms and record load factors, kept our operation running smoothly and got our customers where they wanted to go, on time, with their bags and without any hassle.

'Delivering these back-to-back first-place results is a great achievement.'

US Airways is one of America's 'big five' network carriers, along with American Airlines, Continental, Delta and United Airlines.
