Bmibaby introduces 'enterplanement'
13 Aug 2010

Bmibaby has launched 'enterplanement', a new form of inflight entertainment designed to give passengers a taste of some of the experiences on offer in their destination.

Soprano singer Vera Likerova from the Prague State Opera will appear on a flight from Manchester to Prague today (13 August) to give a ten-minute performance.

The Czech capital will be the first destination to be showcased during the initiative, with Venice and other popular cities also set to be represented in the near future.

Julian Carr, managing director of bmibaby, revealed that the airline wanted to bring to life some of the popular European destinations it flies to.

'Rather than using conventional methods, we thought we could do something more interactive and actually have representatives of the destinations on a few flights,' he said.

'Ultimately we want our customers to enjoy the experience and we hope that it gives them ideas and suggestions about what to do and see in a destination that they might not read in the standard tourist brochure or guidebook.'

The airline operates flights to Prague from Manchester, East Midlands and Birmingham airports and also serves major European cities such as Paris, Amsterdam and Munich.
