San Francisco cruise operator Red and White Fleet has encouraged travellers visiting the city to seek out some of its 'adventures'.

The company is currently offering a 90-minute sailing that takes passengers beneath the San Francisco Bay bridge and past Alcatraz Island.

Guests will also sail past AT&T Park, the home of Major League Baseball team the San Francisco Giants.

Red and White Fleet will offer daily cruises on the route until 6 September this year.

The company highlighted some of the other attractions on offer in the city, such as the California Academy of Sciences, which features an aquarium, planetarium, museum of natural history and indoor rainforest.

People visiting before 12 September can see the Extreme Mammals display, as well as permanent exhibits including a live coral reef and an albino alligator.

Travellers planning to visit America's west coast can catch flights to San Francisco with American Airlines, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and other carriers.
