Brooklyn pizza tour celebrating fifth anniversary

Travellers visiting New York this year can book a place on the Slice of Brooklyn pizza tour to join in with its fifth anniversary celebrations.
Launched in 2005 by New Yorker Tony Muia, the tour takes guests away from the famous sights and landmarks of Manhattan to some of Brooklyn's most popular neighbourhoods, movie locations and eateries.
Visitors can sample the famous Neapolitan-style pizza on offer at Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn Bridge and take a walk along the Coney Island boardwalk.
More than 20,000 people have been introduced to these and other experiences on the tour.
Mr Muia said: 'I wanted to create an easy way for visitors to hop on a bus in Manhattan and experience Brooklyn and its favourite food from a native's perspective.
'When I started doing tours five years ago, nobody was bothering to go pick people up in Manhattan and bring them to Brooklyn. So I took it upon myself to be its official ambassador though pizza.'
The tour has featured on the Today show and in the pages of the New York Times and Frommer's New York City guide.
