Travellers can now fly to Tokyo on the Airbus A380 following the launch of a new route by
Air France.
The carrier flew the A380 from Paris to Tokyo for the first time today (1 September), making the Japanese capital the first destination in Asia to be served by
Air France's superjumbo.
Holidaymakers based in the UK can catch
flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle to connect to the service, which will operate three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays until 4 October, at which time frequency will be increased to a daily connection.
Air France currently operates a fleet of four A380s and began using the aircraft on a route from Paris to New York in 2009, before launching a service from its home base to Johannesburg, South Africa in February this year.
The plane is equipped with a total of 538 seats spread across the main and upper decks in first, business and economy class cabins.
