EasyJet is extending its service from London Gatwick to Palermo, offering year-round
flights to the Italian destination for the first time.
The airline will introduce a winter service to the city from 2 November 2010, providing three weekly connections on the route.
Palermo is the capital of Sicily and is described by easyJet as 'an eclectic city boasting a myriad of interesting sights'.
Visitors can look out for the Palazzo del Normanni, head to the local gallery of modern art or explore the bustling outdoor markets.
Paul Simmons, the airline's UK general manager, said: 'Sicily's tourist capital, Palermo is a great destination offering visitors a plethora of attractions all year round.
'It therefore makes sense for easyJet to offer passengers flights from London Gatwick to Palermo not only in the summer months but winter months too, so that they are still able to enjoy the fantastic service and low fares that we offer.'
The carrier operates a fleet of 42 aircraft at Gatwick and provides links to 86 destinations.
