Florida parks to offer Halloween scares

Families planning a break in Florida during the October half-term period will be able to enjoy some spooky events on offer at local parks for Halloween.

SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment revealed that its properties would be offering a range of special activities to celebrate the occasion, including Spooktacular, a free, child-friendly event at SeaWorld Orlando.

Visitors will be able to see a number of shows, decorate cookies with a Halloween theme and help Sesame Street character Abby Cadabby on an adventure to find her magic wand.

Spooktacular will be open to all guests with valid day tickets to SeaWorld Orlando and will take place every Saturday and Sunday throughout October, with an additional day scheduled on Friday 29 October.

Another highlight for visitors to look out for is Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa, a ticketed event which this year will boast more haunted houses than ever before and live rock concerts.

A new addition to the park's Halloween celebrations this year is Alone, which is described as a 'personal horror experience' inviting participants to embark on a solo journey into the forbidding abode of Master Alexander Daedalus.
