Castaway Bay opening at Australia's Sea World
20 Sep 2010
Families visiting the Gold Coast in Australia will soon be able to try out a brand new attraction at Sea World.
Due to open this week, Castaway Bay is a $6m (£3.7m) interactive adventure playground that features a themed ride, play areas and other highlights for children of all ages.
Dianne Rigg, director of operations at Sea World, said the attraction is expected to be a big success among local guests as well as visitors from further afield.
'Castaway Bay has been specially designed for the family market with three exciting and innovative attractions spread over a huge 8,000-square-metre area,' she added.
Visitors can try out the Battle Boats ride, which features a number of pirate-themed vessels armed with eight water cannons, allowing children to spray fellow passengers as well as the odd unsuspecting parent.
The Sky Fortress comprises five levels of rope bridges, tunnels, slides, games and other activities that will keep youngsters entertained.
Holidaymakers can buy a pass that covers entry to Sea World as well as Movie World and Wet'n'Wild on the Gold Coast.
Travellers can reach the region by catching flights to Brisbane.
