Stieg Larsson tours proving popular in Stockholm
27 Sep 2010
Tours based on the Millennium trilogy of novels by Stieg Larsson are attracting strong interest in Stockholm, Sweden, the City Museum has revealed.
The book series - which comprises The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest - has been hugely popular and has inspired a movie franchise.
At the heart of the stories are journalist Mikael Blomkvist and computer hacker Lisbeth Salander.
Visitors to Stockholm can take tours that begin at Bellmangatan 1, where the character of Mikael lives, before heading to the editorial offices of Millennium magazine and on to Lisbeth's luxury apartment.
Guests will also discover plenty of interesting facts about the Swedish capital and its inhabitants and, when possible, be taken to an exhibition at the Stockholm City Museum to end the tour.
From 1 October, the trips will be available every Saturday morning starting at 11:30 local time.
