Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi set to open early

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is set to open on 27 October, a day earlier than expected, according to officials.

The brand new attraction is the only park dedicated to the renowned racing cars and features the world's fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa, which can hit top speeds of up to 150 mph.

Ferrari World is officially the world's largest indoor theme park and is home to 20 Ferrari-inspired rides, race simulators and attractions.

It's not only the attractions inside that are impressive, though, as the 2,200,000-square-foot roof, finished in the famous Ferrari red, is based on the styling of a Ferrari GT.

Commenting on the opening of the park Claus Frimand, general manager of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, said:

"We are excited to open our doors to the public earlier than previously anticipated, on Wednesday 27 October 2010 and we look forward to welcoming many guests to mark this historic day."

Racing fans planning a holiday in Abu Dhabi will also be pleased to learn that the city is gearing up to host the Formula One Grand Prix in November.
