Hong Kong is 'ideal for food lovers'
30 Sep 2010
Travellers to Hong Kong will be more than satisfied with Hong Kong's delicious food, according the city's tourism organisation.
"Hong Kong is a melting pot with an eclectic fusion of Western and Eastern, traditional and modern cultures," Anthony Lau, executive director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, has said.
"Hong Kong is also a gourmet's delight. Visitors can dine in a Michelin-starred restaurant or eat in a local tea bistro called Cha Chaab Teng among other dining establishments offering the world's cuisines at all price ranges," he added.
Mr Lau's remarks follow news that the number of European visitors taking a holiday in Hong Kong increased by nearly six per cent compared with the same month last year and a further report showed that Hong Kong was in fact better value for money than Australia.
Those with a passion for Chinese food will also be pleased to note that the Best of the Best Culinary Awards, which showcase the signature cooking skills of local Chinese chefs and is organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, will be held in October.
