Manchester hotel guests to benefit from new high-tech tour guide app
27 Oct 2010

Tourists booking hotels in Manchester are now able to benefit from their own high-tech guide to the city.

Following on from the success of similar schemes in numerous tourist destinations around the world, the arts magazine Creative Tourist has announced the launch of a new iPhone app geared towards keeping visitors up-to-speed with goings on in the city.

The mobile cultural guide will provide information on museum and gallery exhibitions, gigs and bar and restaurant offers, while also offering guided walking tours focusing on the city's industrial heritage and modern-day renaissance.

Launching the product, Creative Tourist editor Susie Stubbs said: "We've been likened to a kind of cultural concierge service since much of our content is developed by locals who have specialist knowledge about Manchester's hidden gems."

On the second weekend of November, the Manchester Museum is set to host its monthly Big Saturday event, designed to give both locals and guests staying in Manchester hotels the chance to chat to resident experts and explore a range of scientific themes in depth.
