David Beckham among nominees for Face of Travel award

David Beckham is among the famous figures in the running to pick up the first Face of Travel accolade at the grand final of the 2010 World Travel Awards.
The new honour has been introduced to recognise the celebrity who has provided the most important endorsement for the travel and tourism industry over the past year.
Beckham was nominated for his role in England's 2018 World Cup bid and his appearance in an advert promoting tourism in California, which also starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, another nominee.
Kevin Spacey is also up for the award after starring in commercials for American Airlines, along with Usain Bolt for his 'Once you go, you know' campaign, which boosted Jamaica's tourism profile.
Other names on the shortlist include Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal and Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson.
The grand final of the 2010 World Travel Awards will take place at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on 7 November.
