New visitor amenities at Niagara Falls
22 Nov 2010

Niagara Falls will become even more appealing to visitors over the coming years as a result of planned improvements to amenities, according to Ontario Tourism.

There has recently been significant investment in local hotels, attractions and historic sites and Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper has committed further funds leading up to the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812.

The Radisson Hotel and Suites Fallsview will unveil a new look in 2011, with a redesigned lobby and reception centre and a revamp of the guestrooms and suites.

Visitors can also choose from accommodation options such as the Hilton Hotel and Suites Niagara Falls and the Sterling Inn and Spa.

The Queen Street arts and entertainment district, located near the Fallsview tourist area, is seeing the benefit of recent investment, with new galleries and dining establishments.

Another new attraction in the area is Niagara's Fury, a 4D experience at the Table Rock complex that is designed to simulate the creation of the falls.

A series of special events will take place from June 2012 to December 2014 to mark the anniversary of the War of 1812, including re-enactments, festivals and commemorations.

People interested in visiting Niagara Falls can catch flights to New York or Toronto.
