Business class travellers catching flights with KLM will soon be able to sample the cuisine of leading Dutch chef Jonnie Boer.

The airline announced that it has been working with the culinary expert to create meals that celebrate its Dutch roots, which passengers will be able to try from 1 December.

Mr Boer and his wife Therese own and run Restaurant de Librije in Zwolle, which has received three Michelin stars and been ranked among the top 50 dining establishments in the world.

In addition to the new gastronomic creations, KLM's business class passengers will be offered wine from the Lady Librije range, which was selected by Mrs Boer.

The chef said: 'It was a great adventure to create meals for KLM. As always, we have produced beautiful and pure dishes of high quality, all of which has given rise to lovely combinations of food and wine.'

Erik Varwijk, executive vice-president of KLM Commercial, said the airline's decision to work with Mr Boer reflected its ongoing investment in customer service and highlighted its commitment to renewing its international business class service.
