Universal Orlando Resort is currently celebrating after selling its one millionth butterbeer drink at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

To mark the milestone, the park shared 1,000 complimentary beverages with guests on the streets of Hogsmeade, the replica of the village located near Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter books.

Butterbeer is a non-alcoholic, frothy drink with shortbread and butterscotch flavours that can be served cold or frozen.

The beverage has been highly popular among guests and Universal Orlando is determined to keep its recipe secret, with special security measures being put in place to protect it.

Ric Florell, the resort's general manager, said: 'You can see the excitement on our guests' faces as they wait in line - and then the smile that comes with their first sip.

'Butterbeer is not just a beverage, it's an experience.'

As well as exploring Hogsmeade, visitors to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter can try out rides such as Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon Challenge.
