Dublin prepares to celebrate St Patrick

Dublin will offer some memorable experiences for visitors in March when the St Patrick's Festival returns to the city.
The event will run from 17 to 20 March this year and will include plenty of fun outdoor events, parades, comedy shows, live music, film screenings and more.
One of the highlights of the celebration will be the opening festival parade, which will get the festivities underway on 17 March.
Spectators will be able to see marching bands, street theatre performers, musicians and dancers during the procession before heading to one of Dublin's pubs or bars to soak up the party atmosphere.
The 2010 St Patrick's Festival featured an extensive programme of events including treasure hunts and a funfair for families, architectural walking tours, visual art trails and even an 80-metre stiletto heel dash.
Dublin will not be the only city celebrating Ireland's patron saint this year, with destinations such as London, New York and Boston also set to raise plenty of glasses to St Patrick on 17 March.
