Travellers planning a trip to the Croatian city of Dubrovnik over the coming months will have the opportunity to join in with one of the destination's most popular and colourful events.
Dubrovnik Carnival Fest will take place at various venues from 4 February to 6 March this year.
Visitors will be entertained by more than 1,000 performers from dozens of carnival cities in six different countries: Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania.
Highlights to look out for include parades, acrobatics and live music concerts, as well as the range of art exhibitions, workshops, parties, masked balls, food promotions and other events that are held to complement the main programme.
Venues set to get involved with the carnival celebrations this year include Fort Revelin and the Stradun thoroughfare in the old town area.
Travellers planning to catch flights to Dubrovnik for a city break this year can also go for a walk along the city's fortified walls or enjoy a cable car ride up Mount Srd.
