New routes to Basel from bmi and SWISS

Bmi and SWISS have announced new routes from London Heathrow and Manchester to Basel in Switzerland.
Flights will be operated by bmi in partnership with SWISS from 27 March.
Travellers will be able to choose from daily weekday services from Manchester to Basel and three daily flights on weekdays from Heathrow, with two additional connections on Saturdays and Sundays from the London hub.
An Airbus A319 aircraft will be deployed on the routes, offering a full-service business class and economy cabin.
Joerg Hennemann, bmi's chief commercial officer, said: 'Our customers now have the chance to discover the vibrant and historic city of Basel, on its idyllic Rhine setting, and the surrounding region.
'From Basel you can reach some of the best skiing regions in Switzerland and enjoy easy access to Alsace and Germany's Black Forest due [to] its unique location at the border triangle between all three countries.'
Felix Rodel, UK and Ireland country manager for SWISS, said the airline is 'very excited' about the new routes, which he said will focus on 'the right destination, the right schedule and increased capacity for our customers'.
