24 Jan 2011

Wine lovers can make the most of trips to South Africa this year with the help of a new guide.

The latest Wine Tourism Handbook is now available at bookstores throughout the country, at international travel shows, online and from South African wine farms for a price of 140 rand (£12.50).

Publishers have extended the guide to cover the Garden Route and the province of KwaZulu-Natal.

Furthermore, the publication has been made available to download for use on mobile phones for the first time.

The 2011 guide provides information about all of South Africa's wine regions, as well as bars and destinations in Cape Town and some of the activities on offer to visitors in different parts of the country.

Publisher Monika Elias said that the world of wine is modernising its image and realising the potential of the mobile and social media markets.

She added: 'The latest Wine Tourism Handbook will not only have a one-year shelf life but will be supported by a comprehensive social media package.

'Our Facebook pages and soon to be launched Wine Tourism News blog enable us to constantly update readers on the wine estates, tourism news and specials throughout the year, offering further value and enhancing the distribution of our products.'
