Titanic exhibition bound for Copenhagen
28 Jan 2011

Travellers visiting Copenhagen later this year will have the opportunity to see Titanic - The Exhibition.

The touring show telling the story of the most famous maritime disaster in history will open at the Hans Christian Andersen Castle at the Tivoli Gardens amusement park on 10 April, marking the 99th anniversary of the Titanic's departure from Southampton on its maiden voyage.

Visitors will be able to learn more about the sinking of the ship, as well as some of the people who were onboard when it went down.

Highlights of the exhibition include recreated suites, letters written by some of those who died and original effects from the vessel.

Upon arrival, guests will receive an mp3 player to guide them around the display.

Lars Bernhard Jorgensen, chief executive of Wonderful Copenhagen, said: 'Tivoli is already a great asset for Copenhagen. Tivoli is unique - globally as well - and visitors to the city very much enjoy what they see and do when they visit the Gardens.

'Tivoli hosting an international exhibition about the world's most famous shipwreck strengthens Copenhagen as a destination.'

The show will remain in the Danish capital until 30 December 2011.
