Ocean Park Hong Kong has officially unveiled Aqua City, its new marine-themed attraction.

Figures including Donald Tsang, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Ocean Park chairman Allan Zeman attended an event to open the area, which celebrates the beauty of marine life.

Guests can visit flagship attractions including an aquarium that is billed as one of the world's best, a conservation story told on the first ever 360-degree water screen and a themed retail zone.

The opening of Aqua City coincides with the introduction of an updated main entrance for Ocean Park, providing an all-new experience for visitors.

Mr Tsang said: 'The new Aqua City, featuring cutting-edge design and state-of-the-art facilities, showcases rare fish and marine creatures in one of Asia's largest aquariums.

'I believe it will be loved by children and adults alike and I hope that Hong Kong's attractiveness as a tourist destination will continue to be enhanced.'

The aquarium is home to a variety of marine creatures including hammerhead sharks, manta rays and tuna.
