Half-term ski holiday advice for families
31 Jan 2011
The Ski Club of Great Britain has published some advice for families planning winter sports breaks during the forthcoming half-term break.
Before setting off, parents should make sure that they have all the necessary equipment for their children, including helmets, goggles, snow boots, high factor sunscreen and plenty of warm clothing and layers.
It is also important to check the distance between accommodation and the ski slopes, as well as snow reports for particular destinations in order to be prepared for sunshine or wintry blizzards.
Holidaymakers can check transport links in advance, to see what options are available within their resort.
The Ski Club also offered some tips for families once they have arrived at their location, including making daily packed lunches to cut costs.
Parents could also consider giving their children some sweets to keep their energy levels up during the day, while plenty of water will prevent dehydration and tiredness.
