Boston Wine Festival returns

Boston Wine Festival returns
2 Feb 2011

People with a passion for wine will have the opportunity to attend a special event during trips to the US city of Boston over the coming months.

The 22nd annual Boston Wine Festival got underway in January and will continue until 1 April 2011.

Based at the Harbor Hotel, the event is described by organisers as America's longest-running food and wine series.

The festival was founded by chef Daniel Bruce, who every year offers personal invitations to some of the world's leading wine producers to take part.

A number of celebrated European wineries are participating in this year's event, including Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Castellare di Castellina, Silver Oak Cellars, Shafer Vineyards and Domaine Faiveley.

Visitors can sample a selection of wines combined with different foods and attend some of the themed dinners that are held every year, including the Battle of the Cabernets, Meritage Madness and Super Tuscans evenings.

Flights to Boston are provided by Continental, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways and other carriers.
